BATON ROUGE AREA YOUTH SYMPHONIC BAND 9/12/08

RONNIE SHERLOCK BAND .COM

The Baton Rouge Area Community Youth Symphonic Band is directed by Ronnie

Sherlock. His students have earned Superior and First place ratings performing in local,

state, and National competitions. Several bands performed in Europe, including the

Millennium Honor Band. The White House and the Kennedy Center tour in Washington

were a few on the many performances in the United States. The band performed last year

in the Alamo in Sea World. Please see Ronnie Sherlock Band.com.

The Symphonic Band promotes music for those students who want to play above average

music in an ensemble for all school age musicians. This band program is open to ALL

AREA students. The majority of last year’s students after one year of instruction that

chose to audition this year for the E.B.R. Parish Honor band succeeded. They placed in

all four levels including the Senior High Symphonic Band. This is the key to college

scholarships for your child! My former students are receiving $1,000.00

for one semester at LSU this year! Three hundred and twenty five are

selected! If your child plays on this above average level this IS……..

possible!

The fees for year round lessons are: $38.00 each month for classes twice a week, $24.00

for one class per week. $30 for the Jazz band class of 2 hours of instruction once a week.

Classes at Cypress Heights Academy are one hour, one day a week classes for $24.00 and

$38 for two days a week. Families pay $5.00 less for their second child in the band.

Advanced students that elect to play in the stage band can receive up to 26 hours of

instruction for many months during the year for $38.00! See Ronnie Sherlock Band.com

for all class schedules. New students will be able to try all band instruments to make an

accurate decision. Simply print the registration form and mail it in!

Starting at 9:00 a.m. each Monday and Wednesday, classes will be held at 2791 O‘Neal

at the Riverdale Baptist Church during the regular school year. Discipline problems,

WILL BE dismissed from membership in this group immediately!

Summer Band classes are every Monday and Wednesday each June through August for

anyone. The BRAYS Band fee is based on classes first second semester, second semester,

and summer classes. Band classes continue all year long at the parent’s request.

Enrichment classes are available on selected Thursdays during Summer Band Camp

consisting of field trips to musical and cultural events of interest in our community.

Mr. Sherlock and the band parent’s sponsor the Christmas gift party for the Riley House

children, a tradition of over 20 years. These children are Wards of the State because of

abuse and other problems. This band program teaches more that just music!

Your child may join this band program at ANY time!
