The Community Youth Band is directed by Ronnie Sherlock. His students have earned superior ratings performing in local, state, and national competitions, touring the United States, and Europe. In 2000 the Louisiana Millennium Honor Band touring Europe was named the Dream Team by the Advocate newspaper.

The Symphonic Band promotes music for those students that want to play above average music in an ensemble for all school age musicians. This summer was the third Summer Band Camp for this group. This band program is open to ALL area students. The majority of  first year’s beginners that chose to audition this year for the E.B.R. Parish Honor band succeeded, in all four levels including the Senior High Symphonic Band. This year sixteen of  the Symphonic Band students placed in the East Baton Rouge Parish Honor Bands! This IS the key to college scholarships of  $1,000.00 per semester to $8,000.00 per year!

Registration is August 17th. 2009 from 7:00a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Riverdale Baptist Church near Wal Mart on O'Neal. New students will be able to try all band instruments to make an accurate decision.

All rehearsals will be held at 2791 O‘Neal at the Riverdale Baptist Church during the regular school year. Discipline problems, disrespectful children, and students using foul language, WILL BE dismissed from membership in this group immediately! 

                                                                                       

$38 monthly for year  round classes, two hours each week.                       

                                                                                                     

Rental instruments are possible!


SYMPHONIC Band -  Two hours, Monday ONLY.

            

Monday ONLY Jazz Band. two hours. 

                     

Intermediate class Book 2.

 

"Band staff helpers" will have a fun fishing parties for helping with music 

                                                                                                                              

Advanced students are welcome to borrow an instrument and learn a new instrument!

Rivedale Christian Campus -  meeting in the Sanctuary.

8:05 a.m. - 9:00 - Fifth grade Band- Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.

9:00 –9:55 Fourth grade Band. Class meets Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.

9:55 - 10:50  - Third Grade learning to read music Monday thru Wednesday. 

10:55 - 11:50 Riverdale Advanced BAND Class students –  Class meets Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.                                     

12:00 -  LUNCH break.   

3 to 5  SYMPHONIC BAND CLASS – Advanced High school level. Class meets only on Monday and  Wednesday two weeks before concerts.

1:00 - 3:00 Jazz Band on Monday only.
